Kimberly Wu worked as an automobile designer, but following an immensely positive response to her Building Block side project, she launched her first collection in the spring of 2012. Kimberly and her sister Nancy (also a designer) both collaborate on the Building Block line - a seasonless collection of beautifully minimal yet very practical handbags. Building Block's design philosophy is simple: to address everyday objects through the unexpected use of elemental materials and construction techniques. As an exercise in minimalism, BUILDING BLOCK looks to clear away aesthetic assumptions and finds continual inspiration in returning back to the basics, back to square one.
