Erin Considine, an artist, designer and jeweler has been making things with her hands her whole life. In 2009 she began dyeing her crocheted jewelry exclusively with natural materials, the result of which is a stunning meld of traditional “women’s” craft and modern aesthetic. Her sustainably-minded line utilizes ethically sourced cotton and silk, dyed with wildcrafted and organic Tumeric, Hibiscus, Logwood and other things you might find in the kitchen. As an avid collector of plants, antiques and travels, Considine incorporates influences from the natural world and vintage metier by casting with recycled metals and carving her pieces with an eye to past traditions of sculpture and form.
